The launch of a new brand for Wallingford has been announced as part of a Distinctive Market Town initiative on behalf of the town led by the Economic Development office of South Oxfordshire District Council.

 

As all of us that are lucky enough to live in this area already know, the Wallingford Welcome is part of what makes Wallingford special. This is due to the people who live and work here, and is reflected in the many independent businesses that serve the needs of residents and visitors to the town. The Wallingford Welcome was identified as part of the distinctiveness of the town, which scored very highly on a number of factors of uniqueness compared to other towns in the UK. 

 

Local businesses and other organisations are now invited to participate in the development and use of this brand - and a number of FREE tools have been made available to support this. Simply visit www.wallingfordwelcome.co.uk and register to obtain access to a range of FREE logos and materials to assist with marketing and publicity of your organisation. This includes a number of useful best practice guides to help promote your activities in the area of Wallingford, South Oxfordshire.

 

The Wallingford Welcome site is managed by our Market Town Co-Ordinator, Deborah O'Brien on behalf of SODC. The logo evolved following extensive consultation and discussion from a wide range of groups and stakeholders in the area, including a number of workshops to evaluate alternatives. The development of the brand "The Wallingford Welcome" belongs to everyone in the town through it's promotion and use. It is hoped this will contribute to the economic development of town, alongside a number of other initiatives in delivery, including those by Wallingford Partnership Ltd, the Town Council and SODC,
